Mercy Jemeli, the head of works is a 20 year old, currently at KMTC Nairobi Campus pursuing a Diploma
in Medical Imaging Sciences. My life journey has been an inspiring one, full of challenges, favors and
blessings. I was brought up in a middle class family, my dad having retired and my mum just a house wife
meant they could not raise enough funds for our family. We were blessed to have kind hearted relatives who
upto now are very supportive, God bless them. My uncle took up the responsibility of paying our fees and
this obliged me to work extra hard, I finished my KCPE and passed well after which I joined a National
School. I had started seeing a better future with my progress, in 2016 I did my KCSE and was placed to do
Bachelor of Arts with Education(BAE) at Moi University which I felt was not what I really wanted to do, in
between there were so many strikes and in the process ...
...I thought of venturing into business so I put up a salon, barber shop and a semi-boutique at my home
place just a small village which really gave me good money, had no one to manage it so when I went back to
school I had to close it down. Back at home I had a flower nursery with 7000 seedlings, I sold them each at
ksh10 and I earned a total of 70,000.Later I opted to change course so I applied for it and I received a
letter of admission before joining since I had a whole period of 5months I started teaching at a local
primary school and high school and was paid ksh 5000 and ksh 7000 respectively a total of ksh 12000 by the
end of the period I had raised a huge some of money on my on which helped me alot as I was admitted to
college. Home of Ideas came in handy and I had the urge to join the company, which really has great and
brilliant minds. I had a vision and mission inspire, transform lives and also make my life and that of my
parents better.
